anon hate memes are very cruel things, i think. they are basically an outlet for people to criticise, insult, and judge unreservedly in the most foul language without having to 'expose' who they are, and this then culminates in a big bunch of really nasty things said about people who don't deserve it. it's something that no fandom needs, but for some reason fandoms always have them and they always get a huge share of participants; it baffles me, really.
i suppose the original idea of a hate meme is to jokingly hate on general things, which was what the je hate memes were initially, but then the trolls took over and now it's just a cesspit of hatred and ignorance.
