This is uncanny, no?

....In news unrelated to the two men above, I will be in NYC in approximately five days! So excited to meet [ profile] ununoriginal (whom I haven't seen since August I think), [ profile] apocryphalic, [ profile] sinonymity, [ profile] taoyan! We're going to have a great time, girls ♥
LMAO #1:
Eunhyuk: It had been said that in some website’s research, for “The Singer I Most Want to Brew Pomelo Tea for” Kyuhyun has won the overwhelming first place… really speechless.
Leeteuk: Lately, websites have been coming up with these weird polls. It’s still okay to talk about who you want to go on a vacation with, but why are there these kind of polls such as brewing Pomelo tea.
Eunhyuk: And why would they want to brew Pomelo tea for Kyuhyun.

LMAO #2:

for a more focused view. )

Even 14 hours behind and 2398723 miles away, I am still in love with this group ♥
catskilt: (highly approved)

This actually brought tears to my very unsentimental eyes.

If only it hadn't been a commercial...still, fantastic video, everyone should watch it and love it, etc.

By the way, I am still absolutely furious at what my friend told me yesterday. While she and two others were floundering in snow along a sidewalk a couple weeks ago, someone rolled down his car window and shouted "Suck my dick" at them. Also yesterday, while she and I were climbing over a little hill to get to a traffic light, someone honked at us. I am just disgusted, okay. Most of the Americans I've come into contact with over the last one and a half months have been absolutely friendly and nice people, but what is the deal with these fuckers? These are the ones who give Americans a bad name. >.>
catskilt: (highly approved)

Donghae, I do not approve of your hair, they obviously made a mistake with the dye.
Heechul, approve of your hair, very much *___*
Teuk, your hair never changes, so.
Hyuk, you could be alongside Nic Tse in a 1990s HK gangster film.

I feel that I have to enshrine this tussle in my journal somehow so that I can come back to it in later days to admire my self-control.

T-Mobile is fucking useless.

I could say more, but I'll leave it at that and let the below explain why:

I was on a family plan with my friend, who was the primary account holder, and this month we decided to disengage from the family plan and get our own individual plans and billings. Simple! Simple?

Except that T-Mobile apparently specialises in making your life difficult. READ FOR CRAZY RIDICULOUSNESS. )
So, because holidays are always fun to think about, I'm trying to plan my itinerary for What Happens After Graduation.

Right now, itinerary would include:

New York City from mid-May to early June.
Probably back to Buffalo for a few days.
Onwards to...Michigan? To see [ profile] ky_rin for a few days? Availability of said [ profile] ky_rin to be confirmed at later date.
From Michigan to Chicago to crash with [ profile] trivialaffair and make her bring me to places.
From Chicago to San Francisco to bother [ profile] wobaozhewo.

And it sounds great except that I'm stuck after San Fran and I have nowhere to go in July. I can either rot in Buffalo without any form of transport, or change my return date (and pay a fee of $200), or go visit someone else. Is there anyone wiling (and able) to put me up for a week? Or at least, keep me company? /puppy eyes

I am slow yes but I didn't realise till today that Jokwon and Gain's We Got Married filming had come to an end. I watched the last two episodes and bawled inside (not aloud in case my housemates heard me) and massaged my keening wailing breaking heart because there is no more Kwon/Gain and the world has become wide and empty and....dark. /bawls

But in any case, a little tribute post to the Couple of Couples, OTP of OTPs, Pairing of Pairings, Koibito of Koibito my darling Adam couple that made me laugh and squee and fangirl so much over the past one year, they've created the best scenes ever created by fake married couples and they've been absolutely hilarious and heartwarming and touching and watching them has been pure joy. I don't know who I love more, Kwon or Gain, and whether or not they end up together (PLEASE GET MARRIED FOR REAL PLEASE) I hope they find significant others who bring them lots and lots of 幸福 and haengbok (OH GOD WHAT AM I SAYING PLEASE GET MARRIED TO EACH OTHER PLEASE).

I would still propose to Jokwon.

This is where I fling my dignity to the winds and wail DON'T GOOOOOOO /clings

By the way

An add-on to my previous post:

Chinese food in America, or at least in Amherst/Buffalo, is making itself known to me. I have found instant chop suey in the supermarkets (I didn't know it was just vegetables! I thought it was a flat noodle dish), have eaten a fortune cookie (which taught me a Chinese word too!), have found out what General Tso's chicken is (who is General Tso?), and have tasted lo mein, which would have been nice if it wasn't so oily and I believe back home we call it "chao mian".

I have yet to sample Kung Pow Chicken, though. But I have seen the peach lotus buns in bamboo baskets (they have leaves on them!).

There is a lot of broccoli everywhere.

The only real complaint I have so far is that the mapo tofu I had in "Young Chow" restaurant in my campus tasted more like mei-you-flavouring-de-tofu.

...Yeah. All the Chinese food was served by Chinese people from China, which makes me wonder to be honest whether they eat what they serve. Or maybe it makes sense that the Chinese food is so oily because food in China tends to be overly oily too.

That's all. Just felt that I had to dedicate a post to this particular eating adventure.

Maybe I should open a Chinese restaurant. :D
Just as [ profile] meiface will be embarking on her journey from the States to Singapore today, I am embarking on my journey from Singapore to the States. It was all part of the plan, you know, that we would miss each other so spectacularly!

Please don't say freezing ;__;

And please do make plans with me about when we can meet :DDD
Okay, so.

I've seen [ profile] thundersquall being hated on about a thousand times on the anon memes (kpfm, kpsm, kpwhateverm), and I haven't said anything publicly about it until now, when I am going to say something about it and fuck you if you feel unhappy about what I'm going to say.

I know Sheena in person. I have met her several times. She has visited my home, and talked to my parents. She is one of the people I call a friend. And so this gives me the right to comment on her situation, unlike many of the anons who don't seem like they even know her personally, and are simply riding on hatred that they've heard from other people.

What I have to say is this: no matter what problems you feel you have with her, no matter how upset you might be with her, no matter what she might have done to anger you, there is nothing that justifies going to an anon meme and sprouting insulting, degrading comments about her. Nothing justifies posting up her private tweets on the anon meme and criticising it with a bunch of people who seem to think that insulting someone in cyberspace under the cloak of anonymity is cool. Nothing justifies exaggerating and twisting situations around to make it seem like it was ten times worse than it really is.

Let me get something straight: the friends' cut Sheena did that has apparently wounded so many people's asses. She didn't do it because people don't ship YeWook. Hell, don't ship YeWook, and she has never given me grief about that. Why the fuck would she give grief to people because they don't ship YeWook? She did that friends' cut because anons were fucking insulting her on every anon meme that came up, and many of those insults were tied in to personal comments she made on her locked lj posts and tweets. Which means that some of the people on her f-list and t-list were putting them up for ridicule and ignorant hate. People whom she considered friends. I have so much I could condemn about this practice but I'm just going to say this: if you're joining someone's f-list or t-list just to get the dirt on them, you are below even common respect, and I have none for you.

We criticise antis in Korea for flaming and insulting idols, and we call them batshit and cray cray and insane and all sorts of negative adjectives that we can think of. Well, what makes you think you're any better than them? In fact, I would say that hating anonymously on someone whom you profess to have been friends with is even lower than antis of idols.

And finally to address two absolutely ignorant comments:

pm the story of a basic bitch who rode on the fame of her bnf friends then became more popular than them

1) Contrary to popular belief, she is not a bitch. Stop throwing that word around so lightly. It does not make you cooler.
2) She has BNF friends, yes. Does that bother you? She made those friendships with better intentions than you made hers.
3) She became popular because she is a good writer and reader and basically a friendly person, and if being friendly means you're a bitch, I'm sorry, I must have missed out on that briefing.

i can smell thundersquall's third world cunt in memar rn

1) Get your facts right before you go shooting off your mouth. Singapore is not a third world country. It happens to be one of the most advanced countries in Asia, if not the world, with one of the highest records of personal wealth, safety, home ownership, and economic stability. The average Singaporean owns a home and a car, can speak a minimum of two languages, is well-travelled, and has spending power greater than most Asian countries' citizens. Going around thinking that any country you've not heard of is third world is incredibly ignorant and stupid behaviour. And by the way, jsyk, Asia is not made up purely of China, Korea and Japan.
2) Calling someone a 'cunt' is degrading to the utmost degree and if you have ever screamed for liberalism and women's rights, you are bringing yourself right back to the 18th century.

To sum everything up: I am disgusted by any person who finds fulfillment in hating anonymously on their ex-friends / people they've heard are terrible. Perhaps you don't realise it, but the person you're hating on isn't just a username on your screen. It is a real, flesh and blood person, and you are hurting her. You scream about how antis drive Korean idols to suicide, and you condemn their vitriolic comments and malicious behaviour. Now take a step back and look at yourself. What, in god's name, makes you think that you are doing anything different from what they're doing? What makes you feel more justified than they are in doing it?

This post isn't merely for Sheena, but for anyone and everyone who has received hatred on anon memes and had to leave fandom to get away from it.

And as an ending note: I don't give a fuck if you're going to quote this on your beloved anon memes and call me butthurt or trying to court Sheena's favour or however you would like to twist this to suit your little theories about why you hate certain people. If doing that would make you happy, you are a far bigger bitch, loser, and coward than I or any of the people you hate on would ever be.

I am sort of struggling to breathe. That introduction is the single most perfect thing ever. These guys, why are they like this?

Also, I kind of love how the intro is basically saying: STEP ASIDE BITCHES, THIS IS SUPER JUNIOR. YOU WILL LOOK AT US. AND YOU WILL WORSHIP US.

Me: ...Okay! :D /whipped

Edited to add:

So SHINee's Lucifer performance with f(x) in the SBS Gayo Daejun was epic to the most epic degree. Intense and sexy and passionate and if it does not blow your mind, your mind must be made of steel or something.

SHINee, you may still be babies but hell you have more boss on stage than groups twice as seasoned. This is one of the best performances I've seen since entering Asian idol fandom. (and how pretty is Victoria?)

Member ai at its absolute best ♥

A group that would apologise to its fans repeatedly for not winning a popularity award. A group that would go over to comfort its crying fans. idek. Why are they like this? As [ profile] ky_rin and I agreed today, this fandom just pulls you in and makes you invest yourself in them so much. They're just so loving and caring and considerate of their fans, you would think it was all an act except it isn't.

And then Heechul hugging Eunhyuk and comforting Ryeowook is so incredibly sweet ide :| (regardless of the fact that this is the first time I've ever seen Heechul being hyung-like towards Hyuk).

They didn't win the Daesang, which made everyone into a sad emotional mess for about 24 hours, but hey, Suju has shown time and again that they can pick themselves up after any setback and come back better than ever. So this is what they're going to do! And they're going to continue being their awesome, lovable, respectful, humble (at important times, that is) selves. And they're going to continue their big group huggles and smiling faces and wide open palms and silly antics (even on CNN!) and multi-coloured hair. They're going to continue wearing their rippable cleavage-showing shirts and their spiffy suits and their out of the world accessories and their sunglasses and beanies and wifebeaters, and they're going to fight exhaustion to be the best that they can be for us, and they're going to continue putting on concerts that make even journalists stand up and wave blue lightsticks.

And I'm going to remain with the thousands of fans supporting them because this group is just fantastic, no matter how many Daesangs they might or might not win. ♥

To my bb [ profile] amaelamin_

for making me laugh so much all the time and being too cute for words. Bish bish. And you need to get on twitter so you can see all my (and Sheena, and Trish's) love declarations (and insults) for you!

Also, less than four days before I see [ profile] teexsaurus again *___________* We will have ourselves a good time in HK bblove ♥♥♥♥
catskilt: (hyuk in shock)
